Application
A solvent-based, quick-drying paint developed for use on plastic model kits, but can also be used on other surfaces. Matt, satin, gloss, metallic, metalcote and transparent finishes are available (gloss varies by colour).
Substrate
A variety of surfaces including most plastics, wood, glass, ceramics, metal, cardboard, sealed plaster, sealed hardboard and more (always test on a small test area first for suitability).
Coverage
One 14ml can covers approximately 0.3m², depending on application thickness.
Application
Apply directly from the can with a brush. Airbrush with a suitable thinner such as Humbrol Enamel Thinners. Two thin coats are better than one thick coat. The usual dilution ratio is 2 parts paint to 1 part thinner. Note that Metalcote colours are intended for polishing when they are completely dry.
Drying time
Gloss: 1-2 hours
Matt & Satin: 20-40 minutes dust dry, up to 24 hours for hard dry
Metallic: hard dry in about 10 days. Drying times vary depending on ambient temperature and humidity. Recoating: at least 6 hours (preferably overnight).
Cleaning instructions:
Brushes: use Humbrol Enamel Thinners
Airbrush: rinse thoroughly with Humbrol Enamel Thinners. The product is permanent after drying.
