In 1985, the Evolution 2 version of the Peugeot 205 Turbo 16 made its debut at the Tour de Corse. With the experience gained previously, drivers Bruno Saby and Timo Salonen won the 30th Tour de Corse in 1986. Weighing only 910 kilograms and producing 500 Nm of torque, it achieved a 0-100 sprint in just 2.9 seconds, with little difference whether on asphalt or loose surfaces.
