The pilot and intergalactic vagabond Peter Quill, known as "Star-Lord," is always on the lookout for precious relics. By a foolish coincidence, he finds himself caught in the middle of an all-encompassing conflict. During his latest heist, he unknowingly steals a mysterious super-weapon that the entire universe is after, making him the new favorite enemy of the cunning villain Ronan. Whoever possesses this weapon has the power to subjugate the entire cosmos. In his wild escape, Quill reluctantly teams up with a motley crew of misfits: the weapon-wielding raccoon Rocket Raccoon, the intelligent tree creature Groot, the equally enigmatic and deadly Gamora, and the resourceful Drax the Destroyer.
