Summer vacation, finally time for Ostwind again. Mika (Hanna Binke) is overjoyed. But then she discovers strange wounds on Ostwind's belly, for which no one has an explanation. To make matters worse, Kaltenbach is on the brink of bankruptcy! With a heavy heart, Mika decides to participate in an eventing tournament with a substantial prize money at stake. However, during training, Ostwind seems distracted and often just runs away. Mika follows the black stallion deep into the forest and is quite surprised: a magically graceful gray mare appears from the thicket, and the two horses dance around each other affectionately. Suddenly, a strange boy named Milan (Jannis Niewöhner) shows up, claiming that the mare has escaped from him. He insists that he can help Mika win the tournament. What is the truth about Milan? Can Mika regain Ostwind's attention for herself and the tournament and save Kaltenbach in time?

Carola Wimmer, born in Berlin in 1970, began her career as a writer by creating children's audio plays. In addition, she wrote texts and concepts for various multimedia agencies and worked in press and public relations. Until she decided to fully focus on her work as a children's book author, she was an editor for an internet portal for children and teenagers. Carola Wimmer now lives and works in Berlin.
