"Dia de Muertos," the Day of the Dead, is a traditional holiday when friends and family come together to remember their beloved deceased, offering them sugar skulls and flowers to support their spiritual journey. On this very day, Miguel accidentally sets off an incredible chain reaction that actually transports him to the Land of the Dead, allowing him to finally uncover a centuries-old family secret. Miguel encounters extremely dead yet quite lively characters and experiences the incredible, the surprising, and the unimaginable, culminating in a family reunion of a rather unique kind.
