Product details
The T-34/76 was the original variant of the T-34, which is considered the most famous Soviet tank. This medium tank was produced from 1940 to 1958 and was ideal for mass production due to its simple design. With well over 50,000 units built, it became the most produced tank of World War II and, with a total of over 80,000 units, one of the most produced tanks overall. It received the designation T-34/76 only with the introduction of the T-34/85. Initially used as a platoon and company command tank and in open formations, it often fell victim to German anti-tank fire, despite their glaring lack of suitable defense means. The crew of only four men – with the commander also serving as the gunner – along with technical deficiencies in the transmission and poor scopes limited the tank's effectiveness. Transmission failures were indeed a far more common reason for the T-34's breakdown than enemy action. Nevertheless, its advantages in mobility and armor protection posed nearly insurmountable problems for the attacking Germans for a long time. Additionally, it was better armed than any German tank at the beginning of the war with its 76.2 mm gun. Even later, when the Germans could deploy stronger tanks, their technical superiority was offset by the vast number of available T-34s. This model consists of 852 parts, includes one figure, printed blocks, movable and removable elements, as well as a precise and intuitive building instruction. Model dimensions (LxWxH): 23 x 12 x 10 mm.
