Product details
The Bf109 was a single-engine, single-seat fighter aircraft built by Bayerische Flugzeugwerke AG (later Messerschmitt AG from 1938) and was the standard fighter plane of the German Luftwaffe at the beginning of World War II. It was the only aircraft in the Luftwaffe that proved to be on par with the Spitfire and superior to the Hurricane during the Battle of Britain. However, due to the constantly changing requirements during the war, adaptations and new versions were necessary. In particular, the lack of high-performance engines meant that the Bf 109 increasingly fell behind enemy fighter planes. To withstand the extreme development pressure from ever-superior enemy machines, numerous modifications were made to the Bf 109. However, the improvements achieved often came with disadvantages in other areas. For example, the installation of a competitive engine in the G-10 version came at the expense of the good flying characteristics of the predecessor models. Nevertheless, the Bf 109, alongside the newer Focke-Wulf Fw 190, remained the standard fighter of the German Luftwaffe until the end of the war. Model with 123 parts, printed blocks, and movable elements. Model dimensions (LxWxH): 19 x 21 x 9 cm.
