Product details
The Fiat G.55 Centauro was an Italian fighter aircraft during World War II. Operational testing began in March 1943, and production for the Royal Italian Air Force, the Regia Aeronautica, started almost simultaneously. However, production ended in September of the same year after only 31 aircraft had been built. With the signing of the armistice of Cassibile on September 3, 1943, between the Kingdom of Italy and the Western Allies, the Italian air forces split into the ACI (Aviazione Cobelligerante Italiana) of the royalist forces, which continued to fight alongside the Allies, and the fascist ANR (Aeronautica Nazionale Repubblicana). All 274 Fiat G.55 Centauro aircraft produced until the end of the war went to the ANR. The model was known for its robustness, good maneuverability, speed, and excellent visibility. In the spring of 1944, two of the aircraft, which were very popular among pilots, were upgraded with more powerful German DB-603A engines. This version, designated G.56, was at least on par with all comparable aircraft types of that time. Model with 193 parts, printed blocks, and movable elements. Model dimensions (LxWxH):.
