Product details

The history of the Boeing 747 began with a request from Juan Trippe, the patron of Pan Am, to William Allen, then patron of Boeing, for an aircraft with a capacity twice that of the Boeing 707.une capacité deux fois supérieure à celle du Boeing 707, le deuxième avion de passagers long-courrier équipé de turboréacteurs. Celui-ci could transport a maximum of 215 passengers plus the cabin. Following Allen's commitment 'When you buy it, I build it', Pan Am ordered 25 aircraft in April 1966 and development work began. Le Boeing 747 a été lancé le 30 septembre 1968 et le premier vol (Inaugural ou First Flight) a eu lieu le 9 février 1969. The aircraft soon to be known as the Jumbo Jet was not recognised as the largest passenger aircraft in the world until the first flight of the Airbus A-380 (27 April 2005). The construction of an aeroplane of this size sometimes posed major problems for Boeing engineers, who had no previous experience of such dimensions. For the final assembly of the Jumbo, a new special production facility was built in Everett, a city located north of Seattle in the state of Washington USA. At the time, the assembly workshop was the largest building in the world in terms of volume. The first model of the Jumbo bore the name 747-100 and was built with a total of 205 units. But the great success of Boeing did not come until 1970, with the start of production of the 474-200, which had a higher maximum mass at take-off, greater fuel capacity and a wider range of action. Including all the sous-variantes, 389 units were built. Modèle avec 1000 pièces, blocs imprimés et éléments mobiles. Dimensions of the model (L x l x H) :.
