Cobi Bell-Boeing V-22

Introduced in 2005, the Bell-Boeing V-22 is a tilt-rotor convertible aircraft with the ability to take off and land vertically (VTOL). This type of aircraft combines the characteristics of a helicopter (hovering flight) and those of a conventional fixed-wing aircraft (higher range and speed). For horizontal flight, the three propeller blades of the two transverse rotors located at the ends of the wings and the associated engines are tilted forwards by 90°. It can also be used like a STOL aircraft on very short runways. The disadvantages of this type of aircraft compared to a helicopter are the high procurement costs, high fuel consumption and noise emissions.
