Product details
The aircraft carrier Akagi was one of the most important ships of the Imperial Japanese Navy during World War II. It was part of the 1st Air Fleet of the Japanese Navy. Akagi participated in the attack on Pearl Harbor in December 1941, which triggered the war in the Pacific. It also took part in the Battle of Midway, where it was sunk by American planes in June 1942. Its sinking was a decisive moment that adversely affected the further course of the war for Japan.
The ship model created by COBI is produced at a scale of 1:300. It consists of 3,573 elements and measures 87 cm in length. Thanks to the use of the latest available elements and advanced building techniques, the model reflects the proportions of the historical ship as accurately as possible while retaining all important features. An interesting design solution includes two movable aircraft elevators that can be raised and lowered. The Akagi aircraft carrier features numerous movable parts such as propellers, rudders, rotating turrets, and gun barrels that can be raised and lowered. On the deck of the aircraft carrier, five colorful mini-planes with prints included in the set can be placed. The set also includes a sturdy and aesthetically pleasing black display stand with a plaque that features the name and scale of the ship.
We recommend this large model especially to experienced collectors and fans of building blocks who are not afraid of hours of construction! The ship does not need to be glued or painted, as its entire body and all elements are made from COBI bricks with prints. Thanks to the intuitive, step-by-step instructions, the building process is simple and transparent. With over 3,500 elements, we guarantee a multi-hour building experience with truly spectacular results!.
