Charles Dickens A Christmas Story

Old Ebenezer Scrooge is a hard-hearted miser, the likes of whom you will hardly ever meet a second time in venerable London. He has nothing but contempt for his needy fellow human beings and he considers Christmas to be money- and time-wasting humbug.
On the night of 25 December, however, he receives an unexpected visit. The ghost of his business partner Jacob Marley, who died seven years ago, comes to him to warn him of a terrible fate. Marley now offers Scrooge a chance to better himself and to shed his hard-heartedness, greed and avarice. Three spirits will visit him, the spirit of the past Christmas, the spirit of the present Christmas and the spirit of the future Christmas...
