Burlesque

The young singer Ali faces an uncertain future as she moves from a small provincial town to LA to pursue her dreams. By chance, Ali ends up at the Burlesque Lounge, a venerable but somewhat rundown revue theater, whose owner Tess is also the star of her own show. Ali manages to land a job as a cocktail waitress there. The sexy, provocative costumes and daring choreography of the revue immediately captivate the innocent girl from the countryside, and Ali vows to herself that one day she will stand on that stage. Ali befriends one of the dancers, finds a rival in a jealous singer, and wins the affection of bartender and musician Jack. With the support of the sharp-witted stage manager and a transvestite, Ali finally makes the leap from the bar to the stage. Her spectacular vocal power helps the Burlesque Lounge regain its former glory. Then a charismatic entrepreneur appears on the scene and presents Ali with an enticing offer.
