Battery Disposal Notice

The chemical components of batteries can harm the environment and health if not stored and disposed of properly. Only through separate collection and recycling from regular household waste can health and environmental hazards be avoided. Batteries may also contain recyclable raw materials. Therefore, batteries must not be disposed of in regular household waste. As an end user, you are legally obligated to return used batteries (rechargeable and non-rechargeable) or dispose of them properly. You can drop off your used batteries free of charge at public collection points in your municipality or at retail locations. The drop-off at retail locations is limited to quantities typical for end users and to those batteries that the retailer has sold or currently sells as new batteries.

The symbol of the crossed-out trash can indicates that you must not dispose of batteries in household waste due to their hazardous content.
