The first part of the two-part edition includes the three films:

A Dog's Life (USA 1918): Charlie saves a purebred mixed breed from a raging pack of dogs. Together, they make an unbeatable team and help a destitute showgirl.

Shoulder Arms (USA 1918): Charlie goes to war. And immediately, stinky cheese is repurposed into dangerous projectiles, or he disguises himself as a tree to spy on the enemy troops.

The Pilgrim (USA 1923): Charlie has escaped from prison and is disguised as a clergyman. As a result, he is mistaken for the new pastor and holds a rather unorthodox church service.
