The Mary Rose was a warship of the carrack type in the English Tudor navy under King Henry VIII. After 33 years of service in several wars against France, Scotland, and Brittany, it experienced its final mission on July 19, 1545. While leading the attack on the galleys of a French invasion fleet, it sank in the Solent. Today, it is located in an excellent new exhibition space at the historic dockyard in Portsmouth.
