The M4 formed the backbone of the American armored forces and was produced in numerous versions and variants. By the end of 1944, production of the M4A3E8 version began, which earned the nickname "Easy Eight" and emphasized the operational efficiency of the Sherman due to design changes. In addition to the high-velocity long 76mm M1 gun, a new HVSS suspension system with horizontal dampers was added to ensure improved ground contact, significantly better driving conditions, and higher speed. It participated in the final phases of World War II and played an active role in the Korean War.
