Product details
Art. No.: 510002807 Art. Description: 1:48 Junkers JU-87B Stuka Bat. o. Brit. The model is a replica of the Junkers JU-87B Stuka Bat. o. Brit. The Junkers Ju 87 Stuka was a two-seat dive bomber and ground attack aircraft. It first flew in 1935 and made its combat debut in 1936 as part of the Condor Legion during the Spanish Civil War. The aircraft was easily recognizable by its inverted gull wings and fixed landing gear. The Stuka's design included several innovative features, including automatic pull-up dive brakes under both wings to ensure that the aircraft recovered from its attack dive even if the pilot was incapacitated by the acceleration. In the early stages of World War II, it soon became the legendary aircraft of the German Blitzkrieg, where it provided close support to the Wehrmacht's tank divisions. It was also used by the Luftwaffe during the Battle of Britain, where its weaknesses compared to faster and better-armed modern fighters like the Hurricane and Spitfire became apparent.
