The model is a replica of the Leopard 2A6. The Leopard 2 was developed in the 1970s to meet the specific needs of the West German Army for a new, modern, and efficient main battle tank to replace the Leopard 1. It is armed with a 120mm gun and, thanks to its V-12 twin-turbo diesel engine, can reach a top speed of 68 km/h. It was introduced into service in 1979, but has been continuously upgraded in technology, armament, and armor, and is still considered one of the best main battle tanks in the world. The Leopard 2A6 represents a significant improvement over the earlier versions. Equipped with a 120mm Rheinmetall L/55 smoothbore gun, it offers modern third-generation composite armor. The turret shape and mantle profile were designed to minimize the effects of enemy hits and anti-tank weapons.
