Zulauf Thuja / Thuja occ. 'Smaragd'

Thuja 'Smaragd', botanically known as Thuja occidentalis 'Smaragd', is an extremely popular evergreen conifer with a densely branched, narrow conical habit. It is ideal as a hedge plant as it can be kept to the desired size by regular pruning. The plant can reach a height of up to 5 metres and retains its elegant, slender shape and intense green needle colour all year round.

Caution: The leaves, fruits and seeds as well as the bark of the thuja contain thujone, which can be poisonous if ingested. The consequences are nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea and abdominal pain.
