The particularly striking feature of the Tartarian dogwood is its bright red wood, which provides interesting colour accents, especially in winter when other plants have lost their leaves. During the flowering period in May, the shrub displays its elegant creamy white flowers, which together with the bright wood create a harmonious yet vibrant effect.
