The switchgrass, botanically known as Panicum virgatum 'Prairie Sky', is a hardy garden plant that reaches a height of about 1.2 meters. The delicate fruit decoration that develops after the flowering period between August and September further enhances the plant's appeal.

The plant is excellent for sunny areas and is a true asset to the garden both during its flowering period and with its golden-yellow autumn coloring.
