Product details
The common yew, botanically known as Taxus baccata, is a robust, evergreen coniferous plant that thrives in both sunny and shady locations. It reaches a height of up to 5 metres and is particularly suitable for wild hedges or as topiary. Thanks to its slow growth and pruning tolerance, it can be easily moulded into the desired shape.
The dark green, soft needles remain intact all year round. The common yew is highly poisonous, especially its needles and seeds, which is why care should be taken when planting it in gardens with children or pets.
Caution: The leaves and bark of the yew should not be eaten. However, the seeds of the berries and the taxine they contain are particularly dangerous and can lead to severe symptoms of poisoning if chewed. Unlike the other parts of the plant, the flesh of the berries is not poisonous.
Note: Please note that the plant may look different from the pictures depending on the vegetation cycle.
Container plants
Our container plants grow in plastic pots and - apart from frost-related restrictions - can be planted all year round. Unlike balled plants, they do not experience transplant shock and continue to grow without interruption if planted correctly.Natural deviations possible
