The UGRO Cube is a plastic bag with drainage holes that contains a precisely fitting block of coconut mix. The holes at the bottom of the bag allow roots to spread downwards. Therefore, using it with the UGRO Slab is advantageous, as the roots can reach into the Slab.
Mycorrhiza is a type of fungus that forms a symbiotic relationship with plants through their roots. It spreads through the root system and allows the plant to absorb more nutrients while utilizing the plant's by-products. Plants that are "infected" with the fungus also take up more water and have increased resistance to root diseases.
If you want to use the UGRO Cube and Slab together, you can do so easily. Simply soak both in water and cut 4 holes in the size of the Slab into the top side of the Slab. Once both plastic bags are thoroughly saturated with water, you can place the Cubes on the Slab. However, don't forget to cut a few holes in the bottom of the Slab to improve drainage.
