While most people can probably do without wet summers, hobby gardeners like rainy weather just fine. After all, rain is ideal for garden plants and a blessing for nature. It is the only way for the soil to regenerate after a long period of drought. But what happens when the much-needed rainfall doesn't materialise? On dried-out soils, water from the hose cannot seep away well, so most of it evaporates and does not reach the roots of the trees. One solution to this problem is the tree bag.
The irrigation bag works very easily. The tree watering bag made of durable and UV-resistant PVC is simply placed around the tree trunk and fastened with the zip. The tree bag can then be filled with water through the filling opening. Small holes on the underside ensure that the water drips out evenly over several hours. This allows the soil to soften slowly and channel the water to the tree roots.
This drip irrigation method is therefore particularly water-efficient and the plants can utilise the moisture to the full. For even more sustainable irrigation, you can set up a rain barrel to collect rainwater for filling the watering bags.
During hot dry periods, existing trees should be watered about 2 to 3 times a week using the water bag. If your plants still look thirsty, you can fill the watering bag more often. The tree watering bag is also ideal for supplying newly planted young trees with sufficient nutrients in the form of liquid fertiliser.
This makes the tree bag a flexible and efficient irrigation system that is not only ideal for allotment gardeners, but also for professional gardeners, tree nurseries, municipal organisations, farmers, etc.
Note: Filled tree bags should not be lifted or pulled by the handle loops, as these could otherwise tear off.
