The Altivar Soft Starter ATS480 is designed for starting and stopping asynchronous motors with voltages ranging from 208 V to 690 V. It meets the demands of the most challenging applications in both normal and heavy-duty environments. With a rated current of 790 A under normal overload conditions, it operates motors from 220 kW to 710 kW depending on the supply voltage. Developed for digitalization, it is networked and optimized to comply with cybersecurity standards, simplifying project execution and maximizing application availability. Its Torque Control System (TCS) manages acceleration and deceleration effectively. Thanks to dynamic braking and DC injection, it efficiently handles applications with high inertia. It can be connected in the motor line or in a delta configuration to reduce operating current. The embedded testing routine simplifies commissioning in delta configuration. The dimensions are 770 mm (width) x 329 mm (depth) x 890 mm (height), and it weighs 115 kg. The Altivar Soft Starter ATS480 is designed to monitor processes, infrastructures, and industrial machines. It complies with IEC/EN 60947-4-1 and is certified to CE, cULus, UKCA, CCC, RCM, EAC, and marine certified by DNV, ABS, BV, and CCS. Control terminals, remote mounting kits, and communication modules are standardized with Altivar Drives. Line reactors and DNV kits are identical to its predecessor ATS48. The ATS480 is compatible with ATS48, sharing the same footprint, mounting, torque control, I/O, and menus. Integrating the Altivar Soft Starter ATS480 into EcoStruxure drastically simplifies the selection of architecture, detailed design, and execution of ventilation and electrical systems. It is a Green Premium product designed to consider environmental aspects beyond current guidelines and regulations, and it is compliant with RoHS and REACH.
