The deeply ground and spiral-shaped cutting groove ensures absolute running smoothness and high cutting performance. In particular, non-breaking chips are transported away cleanly, similar to a spiral drill. This reduces the formation of built-up edges and cold welds on the cutting edges. The cone facilitates retraction when drilling through sheets. The titanium nitride wear protection coating increases surface hardness to approximately 2,300 HV and heat resistance to about 600 °C.
