FAQ:
What is this tool used for?
It is designed to crimp QM multipole connectors and 9-way IP68 sealed connectors onto wires sized 16 to 24 AWG.
How easy are they to use?
They are very easy to use. Choose the male or female pin for your application, insert the wire into the pin, then open the crimp tool, insert it into the hole of the indent crimper, and squeeze until the cycle finishes.
How do you maintain the product?
Movable parts should be regularly lubricated. Lubrication is recommended at least every 10,000 cycles or whenever the tool is exposed to contaminants.
The importance of a high-quality crimp:
When a crimping tool is used on a terminal, two crimps occur simultaneously. One is the electrical connection between the conductor and terminal, while the other is the insulation crimp, which provides strain relief against vibration and tension. It is crucial that the electrical connection is gas-tight without any voids between the wire strands and the terminal. Any voids can lead to corrosion, causing resistance and excessive heat, which can damage the electrical connection. Using a high-quality crimping tool ensures a full, gas-tight crimp, preventing future deterioration of the electrical connection and insulation breakage.
