These cables are not intended for use as power cables or for direct connection of devices to the mains. They are halogen-free multi-pair cables with overall shielding. The sheath is made of halogen-free polyolefin, which is flame-retardant according to BS 4066 and IEC 332 Part 3, and emits only small amounts of smoke when burned. The conductors consist of 7/0.25 mm (22 AWG) tinned stranded copper, with polyolefin insulation and twisted in color-coded pairs.
