Drinking water filter rivaALVA LIFE-EM – Metal housing with filter cartridge (without hose connection set).

The rivaALVA LIFE-EM filter cartridge is a sintered activated carbon block filter cartridge enriched with EM ceramic powder during production. EM stands for effective microorganisms. The EM ceramic is made using a specially fired clay that contains organic material from millions of years old plants, which serves as food for the effective microorganisms during the multi-month fermentation process. EM ceramic contributes to reducing the surface tension of water and decreasing cluster structures.

The filter cartridge is food-safe and is produced in an environmentally friendly manner from renewable raw materials in Germany.

Contaminant retention occurs through three principles of activated carbon:

1. The filter fineness of 10 µm retains particles larger than the filter pores. Based on mechanical action, suspended particles, rust particles, and microplastics are retained.
2. Through catalytic action, certain substances such as chlorine and chlorine compounds can be transformed.
3. Through adsorptive action, additional pollutants can be absorbed. These adhere directly to the activated carbon and remain there. Thanks to the adsorptive action, organic compounds such as pesticides, heavy metals like lead and copper, pharmaceutical residues, hormones, and taste-altering substances can be retained.

The flow rate is approximately 9-11 liters per minute at 3 bar. The filter fineness is about 10 µm, and the dimensions are 120 x 67 mm.

The filter cartridge must be replaced after 6 months (according to DIN 1988). The recommended maximum throughput is 7000 liters. Depending on water quality, especially in cases of noticeably reduced water flow, a filter cartridge change may be necessary.
