Riva ALVA-S EM Drinking Water Filter Directly at the Faucet, White

Description: Whether at home or on the go, the Riva ALVA-S drinking water filter is quickly installed at the faucet and provides either filtered drinking water or unfiltered tap water thanks to its switchable faucet. The filter cartridge used is a powerful, sintered 10 µm activated carbon block filter, enriched with EM ceramic powder during production. EM stands for effective microorganisms. The EM ceramic is made from a specially fired clay that contains organic material from plants millions of years old, which serves as food for the effective microorganisms (EM) during the multi-month fermentation process. EM ceramic contributes to reducing the surface tension of water and decreasing cluster structures.

Contaminant Retention: Contaminant retention is achieved through three principles of activated carbon: The filter fineness of 10 µm retains particles larger than the filter pores. Based on mechanical action, suspended particles, rust particles, and microplastics are retained. Through catalytic action, certain substances like chlorine and chlorine compounds can be transformed, so they no longer exist in their original form. The adsorptive action allows for further contaminants to be absorbed, as they attach directly to the activated carbon and remain there. Thanks to the adsorptive action, organic compounds such as pesticides, herbicides, insecticides, heavy metals like lead and copper, pharmaceutical residues, hormones, and taste-altering substances can be retained.
