Product details
Blueberry plants, also known as Vaccinium corymbosum, are fantastic plants for your garden or vegetable garden. In addition to delicious blueberries, the plants produce creamy white flowers in summer and rust-coloured leaves in spring. If you grow blueberry bushes in acidic soil, you will get sweet, juicy and vitamin-rich berries. Blueberry plants are easy to care for and thrive in lime-free, acidic soil. For best results, grow two different blueberry varieties to ensure good pollination. With the right care and pruning, these popular fruit plants will bear fruit for years.
Care
Blueberry bushes reach a maximum height of two metres and are completely hardy. The bushes produce blueberry-like berries that are three times the size of the native blueberry. Blueberries need moist, acidic soil. Vaccinium should preferably be planted in full sun. Pruning is best done in early spring before growth begins. Blueberry plants bear fruit from July to October. You should therefore fertilise the plant in spring. You can also enjoy this plant in the autumn months when it turns a beautiful red colour.
