Product details

The famous and highly popular Areca palm, also known as the Golden Cane Palm, originates from the humid tropics of Madagascar. Areca palms can grow up to 12 meters tall in outdoor rainforests. However, indoors, the plant remains much smaller and typically does not exceed 2 meters in height. The Areca is number one on the list of the best air-purifying plants. It cleans the environment in which it stands by removing harmful chemicals such as formaldehyde, xylene, and toluene. This makes the Areca very popular in offices as well. Aside from its useful properties, the Areca also looks beautiful with its narrow, shiny leaves.

Care
Caring for the Areca is not difficult. The plant prefers a bright location but no direct sunlight. It is best to water it twice a week; in winter, once a week is sufficient. The root ball should always remain slightly moist. For a healthy plant, it is advisable to add some plant food to the watering can once a month. Since the Areca originally grows in a high-humidity climate, it is recommended to regularly mist its leaves with water. Brown, old leaves can be trimmed off.
