Product details
A camellia is a must-have for any garden, especially in spring. The Camellia Japonica is better known as the Japanese rose. This camellia plant is native to China, Japan, and Vietnam, where it grows high in the mountains. The potted plant is evergreen, very hardy, and retains its leaves, making it an ideal plant for the European climate. However, its best feature is its flowers. The Camellia Japonica is an early bloomer, as its beautiful red flowers bloom from February to May.
Care
The camellia prefers slightly acidic, preferably humus-rich soil. During the summer, it is important to keep the soil around the plant well-moistened. The plant prefers partial shade. Over time, the plant will grow into a large shrub, but several plants can also be combined to form a large shrub. Additionally, the camellia does not grow quickly, typically about 15-20 cm per year. Therefore, especially in the early stages, it is not necessary to prune the plant regularly. However, it is important to remove dead branches and wilted flowers.
