Knuchel Zapon varnish Bricapon

Bricapon is a fast-drying, transparent metal conservation varnish based on modified acrylic resins. Bricapon adheres to various metal substrates and provides lasting protection against oxidation, corrosion, and discoloration.

Application Area
As a protective coating against oxidation on copper, brass, chrome, aluminum, iron, etc.

Pre-treatment
The surfaces to be painted must be clean, dry, and free from rust, oil, grease, and wax. Bricapon is applied directly without a primer. Tarnished, discolored, or oxidized metal surfaces must be cleaned to a metallic shine and washed with solvent. When applying to painted surfaces, a preliminary test for compatibility with Bricapon is essential.

Coating Structure
1−2 coats of Bricapon varnish. Due to the low solid content, at least two coats are necessary for pore-free coatings in outdoor areas.

Drying

• Dust dry after 20 minutes
• Tack-free after 45 minutes
• Reworkable after 1−2 hours
• Fully cured after approximately 24 hours (depending on temperature, film thickness, and humidity).
