The Knipex Alligator offers good access to the workpiece thanks to its slim head and joint area. Compared to conventional water pump pliers of the same length, it provides more power and comfort, featuring a 9-step adjustment that allows for a 30% higher gripping capacity. The tool is self-locking on pipes and screws, preventing slipping from the workpiece and requiring minimal hand force. The gripping surfaces have specially hardened teeth with a hardness of about 61 HRC, ensuring high wear resistance and a stable grip. The cage joint design contributes to high stability through double guidance. Its robust construction is resistant to dirt, and a pinch protection feature prevents the operator's fingers from being caught.
