UL, CSA. GSS series, safety limit switch. Designed according to the operational and installation characteristics per EN50041. The limit switches of the GSS series are specifically designed for use in safety applications. All devices are independently tested according to the standards IEC947-5-1/EN60947-5-1 and meet the essential requirements of the Low Voltage Directive for switching devices. They are all marked as positively opening and comply with the provisions of the Machinery Directive as amended by Directive 91/368/EEC. They are categorized as Category 1 according to EN954-1. The category can be increased to 4 in conjunction with safety relays. Protection class IP67. Typical applications include safety doors where key orientation has proven problematic and cannot be resolved with key-operated switches. The user must be able to distinguish between operationally critical safety components on the machine and standard sensors.
