Rust protection paint for all uncoated, rusted, or previously painted ferrous and non-ferrous metals after appropriate pre-treatment, such as garden fences, garden furniture, stair and balcony railings, window grilles, lamps, bicycles, trellises, etc. Hammerite paints are generally not suitable for painting vehicles, heated surfaces (such as grills, flue pipes, brake calipers, engines, exhaust systems, etc.), surfaces exposed to high mechanical stress (such as floors, lifts, vehicle undercarriages, etc.), powder-coated objects, or components with permanent underwater contact (such as pool ladders, in boat areas, dishwasher baskets, aquariums, etc.).

Preparation: For uncoated ferrous metals, sand very smooth surfaces and remove sanding dust. Clean the surface very carefully with Hammerite Metal Cleaner. For rusted ferrous metals, remove loose particles with a wire brush and clean the surface with Hammerite Metal Cleaner. For cast iron, remove loose particles, sand, and clean with Hammerite Metal Cleaner. Apply a coat of Hammerite Rust Blocker as an adhesion promoter.

Tip: The hammer effect is best achieved when the paint is applied quickly and not too thinly, allowing time for the effect to develop. Repeated touch-ups or brushing of the paint can lead to a reduced hammer effect. Hammerblow paints can only be overcoated with Hammerblow paints. Using other systems may result in adhesion or surface defects.
