Güde 94174 Pressure switch with dry-running protection

This pressure switch, also known as a press control, converts your centrifugal garden pump into an automatic water supply system. The on and off pressure is not adjustable with this switch.

Here's how it works: You turn on the tap, water flows, and the pressure switch responds by allowing power to the pump. The pump will continue to draw water until a maximum water pressure is reached, at which point the switch cuts off power to the pump. This pressure switch also has a safety feature, a dry run protection. The switch reacts as soon as there is air, meaning no water in the line, and interrupts the power supply. An indicator light shows this condition. In this case, it is important to check whether the suction line is drawing air or if the well or cistern is dry.

Important note: This type of pressure switch is not suitable for use with an expansion vessel, as it only shuts off the pump when the maximum pressure is reached, which can damage the membrane of the vessel. A pressure gauge is required for installation at the pump outlet to read the pressure display. Equipment (standard): complete with coupling and plug. Suitable for all centrifugal pumps with a pressure of 1.5 to 10 bar (equivalent to 15-100 m of delivery height). An integrated check valve prevents water from flowing back into the pump.
