The task of miniature circuit breakers is to automatically switch off circuits to protect cables and connected devices. After being switched off, they can be switched on again manually without having to replace fuse-links, for example. Each of these miniature circuit-breakers is equipped with a trip-free mechanism that ensures safe switch-off, even if the switching toggle is mechanically blocked, for example. Miniature circuit-breakers in the DLS 6 series protect cables, lines and installation devices against overloads and short-circuits in accordance with DIN VDE 0100. The series includes a wide range of different types, from switches for residential and functional buildings to switches for industrial applications. Thanks to their compact design, miniature circuit-breakers from the DLS 6 series offer maximum space savings for convenient wiring.

The large terminal area and the option of using standard wiring rails ensure simple installation. It is also possible to connect a wide range of additional devices such as shunt releases and auxiliary and fault indicators. The DLS 6i version allows individual devices to be removed from a busbar system thanks to the latching slides on both sides. With their rated switching capacity of 6 kA, they fulfil the requirements of domestic installations. In addition, the large selection of rated currents and tripping characteristics allows the miniature circuit-breaker to be used in many applications. Switches with tripping characteristic B provide standard protection for light and socket circuits. This variant is characterised by its red housing.
