Fire protection switches, arc fault detection devices (AFDD), reduce the risk of fire due to defects in electrical installations. They disconnect the affected part of the system when serial and parallel arc faults occur. According to DIN VDE 0100-420, they are required for sleeping and living areas in daycare centers, nursing homes, and barrier-free apartments, as well as in fire-risk workplaces. The DAFDD 1 compactly combines the detection of arc faults with line and residual current protection. Contact position indicators and the residual current trip indicator provide a quick overview. The RCBO part offers protection against type A residual currents, as well as short circuits and overloads, independent of the mains voltage. Switches with a tripping characteristic of C are optimized for circuits with high inrush or peak currents. The standard version is optimized for monitoring circuits with a rated voltage of 230 V and a rated frequency of 50 Hz.
