External factors such as strong sunlight, increased water temperature or the introduction of fertilisers, but also internal factors such as food residues, leaves, fish excrement and dead plant matter can affect the water quality and subsequently promote algae growth. As an oxygen producer, algae are essential for a functioning garden pond. However, unchecked growth should be counteracted so as not to jeopardise the stability of the water.

Our algaecide is a granulated algaecide with a combined effect. The advantage of this product is that it combines two modes of action, making pond maintenance much easier. Whilst on the one hand it is used for the acute control of filamentous algae, on the other hand the rapid release of oxygen in the water leads to the death of the filamentous algae. Another advantage of the product is the simultaneous supply of active oxygen to the pond, which ensures good aeration of the pond and the breakdown of impurities.

Due to the immediate effect of BIOSTAR Algesan G the dead algae can be removed just a few hours after application.
