Product details

This pure carbonated lime neutralises the acids in the soil which, without liming, become excessive due to decomposition processes and leaching of the lime by rain. It is suitable for fertilising lawns and ornamental gardens as well as in vegetable, fruit and wine growing.

Fine-grained natural lime for loosening the soil and promoting the crumb structure: Grain size: 0.3-1.2 mm; application rate: 200-250 g/m². This lime activates soil life and eliminates soil fatigue. It ensures a pH value suitable for plants and soil and a good soil structure. This promotes the activity of microorganisms and consequently high soil fertility.

Lawn and garden lime loosens heavy soils and facilitates cultivation. With the right lime content in the soil, the other nutrients are also fully utilised because water, air and heat circulation are optimised.

A lack of calcium can lead to typical harmful symptoms such as blossom end rot in tomatoes, apple blotch or black heart in celery - these undesirable symptoms do not occur with a sufficient supply of lime. Moss spreads particularly well in lawns with a lack of lime. With regular liming, the moss is displaced naturally.

Ingredients and instructions for use

Instructions for use
Liming is generally possible all year round, but is best done in autumn or early spring. It is ideal to determine the pH value before liming. Depending on the determined requirement, sprinkle the garden lime evenly and work it in lightly - do not dig it in! The optimum pH value on most soils is between 6 and 7. To raise the pH value from 5.3 to 6.3, for example, approx. 300 g of garden lime per m² or 30 kg per 100 m² is required on a light soil, and 2-3 times this amount for medium to heavy soils. Maintenance liming to compensate for constant, natural soil acidification should be carried out approx. every three years: light sandy soils: 10-20 kg/100m² medium loamy soils: 15-25 kg/100m² heavy loamy and clayey soils: 25-35 kg/100m². Clay soils: 25-35 kg/100m² When liming new gardens and acidic soils, up to 1,000 g of garden lime per m² may be necessary. However, more than 700 g/m² should not be used in one year, so it is advisable to apply a partial amount in one year, test the pH value again the following year and then apply another partial amount if necessary. Overdosing should be avoided as this can cause other nutrients to settle. Compost: approx. 10 kg/m³ compost Lime peat: approx. 5 kg/m³ peat Crops with higher lime requirements: all types of cabbage, carrots, peas, beans, beetroot, celery, cucumbers, tomatoes and radishes Low lime requirements: lettuce, spinach, onions and leeks Rhododendrons and other bog plants do not like lime.
