No, you can connect it to the app while you're driving so you can see where you've been driving
No. There is no GPS that tells you where you have been or where you are at the moment, but it does have something like a tracker in it, which you can link to your cloud and find the device if it is stolen, for example. You will also be warned via the "Where is" app if you move away from the device.
