The purpose of the German reins, also known as sliding reins, is to correct an overly high or misaligned neck position. When using German reins, you ride with two pairs of reins: the bridle reins, which act directly on the bit, and the German reins, which are guided through the bit and attached to the girth. These reins consist of two parts: a nylon rope that is very abrasion-resistant and allows for optimal sliding of the system through the bit rings, and leather for hand comfort. For easier attachment of the bridle, snap hooks are provided. For girths that do not have a loop for the snap hooks, a girth hook is included. Brass fittings.
