In the lighter models, Sea to Summit has managed to reduce the weight and bulk of the PU foam by 20% using the vertical Delta Coring method. For optimal placement of the Delta Cores, we employ extensive mapping techniques to analyze the stress zones of the sleeping mats. In the areas that experience more pressure, such as the shoulders, hips, and feet, the Delta Cores are smaller to ensure a higher level of warmth and comfort. In less stressed areas, more foam is cut away to minimize weight and pack size. The Delta Core-V technology is applied in the Ultralight SI and Camp Mat SI models.
