Product details

The Litetrek III is a 3-person double-wall tent designed for alpine trekking, prioritizing weather protection, stability, weight, and pack size. It is suitable for use in three seasons during milder temperatures and can withstand wind speeds of up to 90 km/h, according to wind tunnel tests conducted by the Technical University of Munich. The robust and reliable semi-geodesic double-wall construction offers the optimal balance between weather protection and weight without compromising space. Thanks to its 100% freestanding design, the tent can be easily set up on rocky terrain without the need for guy lines. The vestibule is tensioned with the poles rather than with pegs. For added flexibility, the anchor points can also be extended. The tear-resistant 50D polyester ripstop outer tent is PU-coated and achieves a water column of 3,000 mm. The floor is made of durable PU-coated 70D nylon with a water column of 5,000 mm. The inner tent is made of 20D nylon ripstop and features a mesh entrance with an integrated mosquito net. For better ventilation, the rear panel can be opened from both the inside and outside with zippers to regulate fresh air intake and prevent moisture buildup inside. The 3S Speed Set Up solution with short, flat pole channels and hooks allows for quick and easy assembly. Another advantage of the Litetrek III is its versatility: the weatherproof and sheltered vestibule integrated into the inner tent can be used for storage or as a cooking area and can be expanded if needed.

  • NegativeRelatively high price

The Lifetrek II is easy to transport and quick to set up and take down. It was a good companion for my solo tours, but it can get cramped for two. I like the look, the price not so much.

This test report belongs to a different type: Litetrek II C (Dome tent, 2.98 kg, 2 persons)
