Merino wool is ideal for base layers in cold weather. It can absorb moisture, effectively transporting sweat away from the skin to maintain comfort and regulate body temperature. It also provides excellent insulation when wet, although it may take some time to dry. The artificially produced synthetic fibers are robust, durable, lightweight, and shape-retaining. They can also dry extremely quickly. This quick-drying, moisture-wicking, insulating, and durable material blend is perfect for base layers in the mountains.
