The SRAM MY26 Cassette XG-1270 Force AXS 12-speed, 10-33 is compatible with the Tacx Flux 2 Smart if it is equipped with the Tacx NEO 2T-SRAM XD-R freehub body type 2. For SRAM XDR cassettes such as the XG-1270, a special XDR freehub body is required, which will be available as an accessory for the Tacx Flux 2 Smart from the 4th quarter of 2019. In addition, a 1.85 mm spacer ring is required when mounting XD-compatible sprockets.
To summarise:
- Tacx Flux 2 Smart supports Shimano and SRAM cassettes with 8-11 gears as standard.
- For SRAM 12-speed cassettes (XDR) such as the XG-1270, a special XDR freehub body (type 2) is required.
- The Tacx NEO 2T-SRAM XD-R drivetrain body (type 2) is compatible with the SRAM XG-1270.
- A 1.85 mm spacer ring is also required for XD cassette installation.
This means you can use the SRAM MY26 XG-1270 12-speed cassette with the Tacx Flux 2 Smart and the freehub body mentioned above without any problems.
You need the QR end caps (117-01575-02) for the Flux 2, which are available in assembly kit S0054. Then you can ride your Shimano 105 wheel with quick release.
The SRAM Rival 12-speed cassette is not directly compatible with the Tacx Flux 2 Smart without additional parts. The Tacx Flux 2 Smart is compatible with Shimano and SRAM cassettes from 8-11 speeds as standard. For a SRAM XDR cassette, you need a separate XDR freehub body, which must be purchased separately.
Hello,
I have a 9-speed cassette. Everything fits there. I suspect the freehub body of a 9-speed cassette is different from that for 12-speed.
You simply have to install a different freehub body. After that it should work.
Hello Pascal
The roller trainer comes with various adapters. We were able to clamp new, old and even a 26" children's racing bike. The children's racer is also 8-speed.
Greetings franc
Yes, buy a new cassette. Which cassette depends on the components that are built into your bike (Shimano / Campagnolo / etc). It is best to buy the identical one. If there are problems with the gearshift after installation, you will also have to replace the chain.
The electric power is to slow you down... on the simulated hills. The magnetic FLUX created by the electricity is to slow down the flywheel inside what makes you put more effort to spin it. Like going up the hill. On going down it makes it spin as fast as 90km/h so you need to use breakes instead! Ok, just kidding about down hill ;-) Up hill is right! Cheers!
As stated in the availability, the delivery time is about 8 days. Taking into account the current situation, 3-4 additional days count.
The enquiry function is not intended for this purpose, please contact customer service if you have further questions on delivery times.
It is best to make sure that you buy the same cassette as the one you have on your bike. If it is something exotic, i.e. not sram or Shimano, you should check the Tacx website to see if it is compatible with the trainer.
I noticed that a simulation or demo device can be selected in the desktop app under "Devices". If this is "connected", the simulation sensors show any values, even if it is not being driven. Could it therefore be that the correct device is not connected? In my opinion, this is a plausible behaviour if the wrong device is connected.
Both are top roller trainers, the Neo is the Tacx high-end product. Depends on your needs, a professional cyclist will probably opt for the Neo, the ambitious amateur will be satisfied with the Flux 2 Smart.
Neo:
+ motor brake
+ Resistance 2200 vs. 2000 watts
+ Accuracy 1% vs. 2.5%
+ Gradient up to 25% vs. 16
+ Simulation of descents as well as road surface (e.g. cobblestones)
