Petzl Sm' D

The Sm'D is a D-shaped, compact, and lightweight locking carabiner that is useful in many situations. It can be easily operated with gloves and is available with two locking systems.

Many applications:

• Particularly efficient due to its D-shape, regardless of the direction of use, making it ideal for various purposes: securing a safety system, a pulley, at the end of a connector, etc.
• Compact design and very lightweight.

Good handling and ergonomics:

• The D-shape fits well in the hand.
• The H-shaped cross-section makes it easier to handle with gloves.
• The Keylock system prevents the carabiner from snagging.
• Hole for threading a cord to connect a TIBLOC rope clamp or a MICRO TRAXION pulley to the carabiner and protect it from falling.

Available with two locking systems according to the intended use:

• Screw-lock: an easy-to-open system that can be locked or unlocked as needed. A red indicator is visible as long as the carabiner is not locked. This system is suitable for challenging environments where mud or ice could cause the automatic locking system to fail.
• Twist-lock: designed for quick opening (e.g., at the end of a connector) and for connecting a GRIGRI to the harness.
